I love the birds around this Qoqoqlo Katsinas head and his rattle in his hand. I wonder if they are humming birds and he is communing with the spirit world. This tile depicts one of the earliest Katsina’s images seen on Polacca pottery from the 1870s
This Tile is part of the Tad Anderman Hopi Tile Collection amassed over 40 odd years.
